Admission Requirements

Exact requirements vary by partner university and program, but here's a general guide to what's typically expected at each degree level.

Requirements by Degree Level

Because Global Degrees works with multiple accredited partner universities, specific admission criteria differ from one program to the next. Your advisor will confirm the exact requirements for the university and program you're interested in. As a general reference:

Degree Level Typical Requirements
Associate Degree High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED). Some universities note a minimum GPA guideline, though this varies by institution and can sometimes be waived with relevant experience.
Bachelor's Degree High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum GPA guidance, if any, varies by university. Prior college credit is welcomed and evaluated for transfer.
Master's Degree A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Some programs request a minimum GPA and/or a minimum number of years of relevant work experience; others waive GPA minimums for candidates with strong professional backgrounds.
Doctorate / PhD A master's degree (or in some cases a bachelor's degree plus significant experience). Typically requires a statement of purpose describing your research or career goals, and occasionally an admissions interview.

English Proficiency

If English is not your first language, most partner universities will ask for proof of English proficiency — commonly through TOEFL or IELTS scores. However, requirements vary by partner university: some offer waivers based on prior education taught in English, professional experience, or an alternative internal assessment. Ask your advisor whether a waiver may apply to your situation before arranging a formal test.
